Criminal Justice Program

Washington County Community College will be offering an Associate in Applied Science Program in Criminal Justice at the Calais Campus.  The program is offered through Southern Maine Community College, but all the courses will be offered on the WCCC campus.  The program will begin in the fall of 2007 and conclude in the spring of 2009.  Enrollment packets are available by contacting Washington County Community College’s admissions office.

Throughout Maine and The United States, there continues to be a demand for highly educated criminal justice professionals. Police, customs and border protection agents, border patrol agents, corrections, probation/parole, or any type of investigative work requires skills of a technical and academic nature, gained primarily through a college education and advanced in service training. The Criminal Justice program offers a strong academic associate degree program and in service training to students and criminal justice practitioners alike. The Criminal Justice program faculty are former and active police professionals with line, supervisory and/or management experience. Criminal Justice faculty are involved in educational activities on the state and local levels and often serve on Criminal Justice Boards and Commissions as well acting as consultants to the criminal justice community.

WCCC highly recommends at least one campus visit prior to enrolling.  Campus visits can be arranged by contacting the admission’s office at 207-454-1000 or admissions@wccc.me.edu.
