The Computer Support Specialist
Associate in Applied science Degree program at WCCC focuses on all
aspects of computers and specializes in the area
of computer networking. WCCCs instructional
program is an excellent foundation to gain skills
for the current computing workplace. Our curriculum
is designed to develop independent resourceful
individuals with great people skills. We believe
that current business success is keenly dependent
on expert use of information technology using
networks. Our students must learn to be adaptable
and be enthusiastic learners, because the rate
of change in the world of technology is very high.
Some incoming students have extensive computer
experience and others may be new to technology.
At WCCC we provide small classes where each student
gets individual attention and experience on key
hardware and software applications, our program
assists the computer apprentice grow in confidence
and knowledge.
Students will study computing operating systems,
key networking applications, programming, networking
hardware, color graphics, and future technology
developments. The variety of courses within the
curriculum insures that our graduates consider
themselves to be versatile computer technologists.
Within the computer technology electives student
will get a chance to observe and program robotic
controllers, develop computer simulations, and
industrial applications of microprocessor controlled
test and measurement equipment.
Graduates of the program will find their skills
are highly marketable in many business sectors.
Our graduates often will seek jobs in small business
or office environments where they have broad responsibility
for programming, database management, web page
design, hardware installation, networking, and
computer systems upgrades.
