The
Downeast Adventure Race is an entry level multi-sport
event that consists of mountain biking, white water
canoeing, sea kayaking, running, and team challenges.
This 21 mile race is designed for 1st time racers and
experienced racers alike.

Saturday
May 3, 2008. Starting at 10:00 am. Registration
must be received by 5 pm, Friday, May 2, 2008.
Teams must report to the race start by 9:00
am on race day. |

Start
and finish at Washington County Community College
Campus. WCCC is located in Calais, Maine and overlooks
the historic and scenic St. Croix River which
forms the International Border between the US
and Canada. |

Biking 12.3 miles
Whitewater Canoeing 3.6 miles
Running 2.3 miles
Sea Kayaking 2.9 miles
The
course takes advantage of the unique terrain
in Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge and the
beautiful and historic St Croix River and estuary.

Team:
3 racers and 1 support person. All 3 racers must
complete all legs of the race together staying
within 50 feet of each other at all times.
Relay: 4 racers and
1 support person. One racer from each team completes
one leg of the race and hands off to the next
racer to complete the next leg.
Individual: 1 racer
and 1 support person. One racer completes all
legs of the race by himself / herself.

All
race proceeds go the WCCC Outdoor Adventure Center
to fund student scholarships and student work
positions in the Outdoor
Adventure Center. |
