Washington County Community College is one of seven community colleges that operate under the authority of the Maine Community College System. WCCC is a non-profit, residential, post-secondary institution supported, in part, by appropriation from the Maine State Legislature. The college is located in Calais, a rural community on the international border between the United States and Canada. The college’s modern classrooms, labs, and residential buildings are situated on a hillside overlooking the St. Croix River Valley at the edge of a 400-acre campus of mature woods and fields. The college currently offers 18 full-time major programs of study at the associate degree, diploma and certificate levels. A wide range of credit and non-credit courses are also offered in the evening, during the summer term and online. All these programs are offered to women and men, and all students are encouraged to enroll in programs considered non-traditional for their gender. Qualified people with disabilities are also encouraged to apply and are provided appropriate support services. |
