TRIO Director

 Washington County Community College

Director of TRIO Student Support Services Program

 

 The College is seeking a highly talented professional with a strong work ethic to direct its TRIO Student Support Services Program. The Director is responsible for providing vision and leadership to the program.  Responsibilities include: supervision and evaluation of staff, budget management, development of grant reports and proposals, maintaining compliance with federal guidelines and adhering to deadlines, recruitment of eligible students, tracking and reporting student progress and performance, and working collaboratively with the college community to identify and assist students in need of program services including giving direct services to students.

 TRIO is a federally funded program that aims to support learning needs of students including those representing low income, disabled, and first-generation populations.  The WCCC TRIO Student Support Services Program receives 100% of its funding through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. In 2010, the grant award was in the amount of $252,052.  The TRIO SSS Grant is a five year grant (2010-2015).

 

Qualifications:  A Master’s Degree is required in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Special Education or closely related field. A Baccalaureate degree with substantial work towards a Master’s Degree in an appropriate area may be considered.  The ideal candidate will show evidence of strong organizational and record keeping skills, substantial counseling background, and a proven ability to work with economically and educationally disadvantaged students. Excellent communication skills, the ability to utilize technology and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff are integral to the position. Preference will be granted to individuals from our target populations.

 

Compensation:  Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.  $42,697.24 -$54,087.58
