Washington County Community College Partnerships

Washington County Community College is dedicated to providing opportunities for high-quality education to residents of the State of Maine ant the region. WCCC is a small college where you find friendly and professional staff, a supportive learning environment and a broad array of career choices. Our programs and services prepare and sustain a diverse student body as competitive members of a world-class workforce and contributing members of society. Washington County Community College Partnerships help deliver on this promise, bringing associate degree, diploma, and certificate completion programs to students where they live and work.

The University of Maine and Washington County Community College are committed to a joint development of curriculum and outreach in geo-spatial technology to serve the needs of Washington County and the State of Maine. Students attending WCCC can transition to a four-year program at UMM by taking courses for a Bachelor's degree before they even finish their Associates degree at WCCC. UMM Bachelor of Science programs in Recreation and Tourism Management, Business and Entrepreneurial Studies, and Elementary Education are closely coordinated with degrees from WCCC.

Southern Maine Community College offers the Criminal Justice program at Washington County Community College. The Criminal Justice program offers a strong academic associate degree program and in service training to students and criminal justice practitioners alike. Southern Maine Community College is located in Portland, Maine and one of the seven colleges in the Maine Community System. The college offers programs awarding associate in applied science, associate in science, and associate in arts degrees; and certificate programs.

Eastern Maine Community College is a community college in Bangor, Maine and one of the seven colleges in the Maine Community College System. Washington County Community College offers a Plumbing Technology Certificate program through Penquis Higher Education Center of Eastern Maine Community College at Tri-County Technical Center. The Plumbing Technology Certificate program is a two-year, part-time certification that prepares students to assemble, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in accordance with the Maine State Plumbing Code. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the State of Maine Journeyman's Plumbing Examination.

Women Work and Community is committed to improving the economic lives of Maine women and their families. They provide training, advocacy and assistance in the areas of building a career, starting a business, managing money and becoming a leader.

Child and Family Opportunities, Inc. has a child care facility housed on the on the campus of Washington County Community College. It is a private non-profit organization whose mission is to provide quality early childhood services in the communities they serve.   Child and Family Opportunities advocates for adequate resources and the building of collaborative relationships to promote the well being of children, families and communities.

 

New Brunswick Community College offers over 100 programs in unique New Brunswick with locations in Fredericton, Saint John, Moncton, Miramichi, St. Andrews or Woodstock. Their goal is to provide outstanding education in an intimate and personal setting. WCCC students who graduate from the Culinary & Baking Certificate program will be accepted into Year Two of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program at New Brunswick Community College.

St. Stephen University is a Christian university that is perched on a hill overlooking the St. Croix River in St. Stephen, New Brunswick-the international border between Canada and the United States. The University offers degree programs in liberal arts and ministry studies.
