COVID-19 Update: Spring Semester Start Moved to January 18, 2022

December 21, 2021

WCCC will be deferring the start of the spring semester by one week due to the surge of COVID-19 cases we are presently seeing in Maine and the anticipated uptick in cases health officials are warning about after we gather indoors over the holidays.  This decision was made with the health and safety of our campus community as the top priority.  By delaying the start of the semester, it provides necessary time after your holiday gatherings to help decrease the potential cases and/or the spread of COVID-19 on our campus.  The spring semester will begin on January 18, 2022 versus the planned date of January 10, 2022.  Please monitor your student email for more information forthcoming from the Academic Dean’s Office.

We will also be requiring all dorm students to test prior to returning to campus living.  If you are a residential student and you are unable to get a test in your hometown, please reach out to either Karen Gookin or Ben Collins as we will have some rapid tests available for you on campus.  I would strongly encourage you to attempt to schedule a test at home if possible, as a positive result on the test would impact your ability to move into the dorms.

Wishing you a safe and happy holiday with your family and some much-needed rest and relaxation over the holiday season.
