WCCC Automotive Technology Student Wins COVID-19 Vaccination Scholarship Drawing

CALAIS, ME –Washington County Community College is pleased to announce that Anderson Currier, a student enrolled in the Automotive Technology program, has won the drawing for the COVID-19 vaccination scholarship. The scholarship is for up to eighteen credit hours of tuition and fees for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.

Currier is a 2020 graduate from Washington Academy in Machias and is from Marion Township. He first attended WCCC in January 2021 where he worked to complete online general education courses towards his certificate. Currier expressed excitement to be in-person attending courses this academic year. Outside of commitments as a college student, Currier is also employed as a firefighter with the Maine Forest Service and enjoys hunting and fishing. It is anticipated that he will graduate from WCCC in May 2022 with a certificate in automotive technology and he plans to eventually open his own business in Washington County.
