WCCC Golf Tournament Raises $10,500 in Scholarships

September 21, 2018

Every year, golfers from across Washington and Charlotte Counties gather to take part in Washington County Community College’s golf tournament, held at the St. Croix County Club in Calais. This year’s event, held on sunny Saturday, July 14th, was attended by 116 golfers, each of whom was eligible to win a new vehicle thanks to the sponsorship of Pratt dealership in Calais. None of the golfers were lucky enough to hit a hole in one this year, leaving the vehicle unclaimed – until next year’s competition.
This year’s tournament and scholarship campaign generated $10,500 in scholarships. WCCC would like to give special thanks to everyone that made a scholarship donation so far this year: Andel Construction Services, Anne Perry, Bell’s IGA, Calais Ace Homecenter, Calais Dunkin Donuts, Calais Motor Inn, Dr. Bill & Sue Cassidy, Joseph Cassidy, Dead River Company, Down East Credit Union in memory of long time Board of Directors member Jeff Gagner, Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative, EBS Building Supplies, Farrell Family, International Motel, Dr. Joyce & Wes Hedlund, Ken & Jane Brooks, May’s Funeral Home, PCT Communications, Quoddy Pilots USA, Richard Mingo Construction, Riverside Electric, Roger’s Auto Sales, St. Croix Country Club, Sunrise Eye Care, WCCC Student Senate, Tammi Smith Tax & Accounting, and WQDY.
